The Application of Suggestopedia in English Classes at Primary School

The diploma thesis focuses on the possibilities of teaching English using suggestopedic teaching methods at primary schools. The thesis is concerned with the application of this method to primary school enviroment with the goal to find out whether this method is efficent for young learners. The theoretical part classifies individual teaching methods and approaches in language teaching. Each method and approach is described in terms of its origin, development and principles. The major theoretical part deals in particular with the alternative method suggestopedia. The practical part solves possibilities of using this method in English language teaching at a chosen primary school and varifies if some of its elements can be used in the future.
Using some aspects of suggestopedia in English language classes at lower secondary school level

This thesis implements aspects of suggestopedia in English language classes for lower secondary school level. The theoretical part of this thesis provides information on current traditional and alternative methods on foreign language teaching. The thesis also contains a detailed description of suggestopedia. An additional objective represents music theory and its various uses during teaching. This thesis aims to prove that some aspects of suggestopedia are highly adaptable when teaching pupils English as a foreign language. In order to achive this goal, three lessons are created with their curriculum according to the Framework Education Programme and School Education Programme for secondary schooling. This thesis offers a detailed description of three English language lessons and teaching material that is included in the appendix. Evaluating the suggestopedia adapted lessons comprises of a group interview and a short questionnaire. The final conclusion of the thesis is based on feedback provided by pupils and the teacher's self-reflection.
Song as a methodological tool

My work is dealing with the topic concerning the use of the song in the class. In the theoretical section, the author considers the teaching methods, types of exercises, connection of the song in the class with suggestopedia and the use of the song in the class where French language is taught. Then in the practical section she suggests the possibilities of the work with different songs in the class.
Use of Suggestopedia and its current forms in English language teaching

This diploma thesis is concerned with the use of Suggestopedia and Superlearning in English language teaching. The theoretical part focuses on the historical and theoretical context of the methods, the description of their aims, processes and techniques. Furthermore, Communicative approach and its closely related methods are briefly explained, as they are also connected to Altissima language school where the research was done. The practical part deals with the analysis of two observed lessons where the principles of Suggestopedia and Superlearning were used. Moreover, the lectors' statements and learners' comments are scrutinized.

Thesis "Modern Methods in Teaching And Studying Foreign Languages with Focus on Suggestopedia" introduces readers to the topic of alternative approaches in the study process. First chapters describe how processing new perceptions works on biological level and a way how new information are sorted and saved. These findings about brain are used as a foundation for description of how external factors may influence the learning process. The last part focuses on specific alternative teaching method suggestopedia. For this method basic teaching principles and psychological aspects of learning by suggestion are described.
Superlearning

This specialized thesis is dedicated to the subject of superlearning. Its main objectives are clearly organized and meaningful completion of the present knowing of the given question and mediation of information about possible use of so-called right- -hemisphere didactic methods and systems in language teaching in the Czech Republic. The thesis is composed of four main chapters. Superlearning is very often ranked among the didactic methods. The first chapter is dedicated to them. But superlearning is the special didactic system, it is said and explained in the second chapter. Its parts are also clarifying of relation with suggestopaedia and description of their common principles. The penultimate chapter treats of the phases of the group tuition of superlearning, superlearning as a way of self education and the method of language teaching called DME, which exploits the effective tenets of superlearning. The subject of the fourth chapter is the use of so-called right-hemisphere didactic methods and systems in language teaching in Czech practice. Alternative methods in teaching Czech as a foreign language

1 Abstract This diploma introduces three alternative methods taught in the study of foreign languages - a method of suggestopedy, Nepustil's method and the Act and Speak method. The purpose of this work is to approach the methods from a historical and methodological perspective. The main focus is aimed at inspections of alternative schools, supplied with student's questionnaires and the visual material from classes. The theoretical part discusses methods from a historical perspective, the progress and presentation of grammar and learning material. Furthermore introducing the basic concept and features of alternative methods with the posibility of applying them during the teaching of Czech language for foreigners. The practical part introduces research made up of inspections at alternative schools along with interviews with founders and successors of these methods. As analysis of the questionnaires that explore the opinions and awareness of teachers about the effectivity and usefulness of untraditional methods in teaching is also a part of it. Practical inspections and conclusions based on the results of questionnaires showed the Act and Speak method to be the most beneficial method. Suggestopedia as inspiration for English language teaching in the context of interest adult education

The diploma thesis deals with the suggestopedical English language teaching in the context of leisure education. Characterizes the interest adult learning as a part of lifelong education, defines its objectives, functions, motivation and language barriers within the adult education. More specifically, it focuses on the alternative method suggestopedia in detail; it examines its origin, development, features and principles. It describes the different stages of learning that forms the characteristic profile of this unconventional method. The empirical part is focused on the suggestopedic course itself. The use of case study helped to understand the features of suggestopedic education, processes and conditions from the point of experiences and attitudes of the course participants, i.e. the advantages and disadvantages of this method.
